Christmas Day

After making our annual late night drive home on Christmas Eve, our kiddos were tired and slept in on Christmas morning. Of course Sophia and I were up around 7. The rest of the family didn't get up until after 9.
As soon as everyone was up we all gathered on the couch. Scott got his bible and told the kiddos we were going to read the Christmas story. Scott started reading, and a short time into the story, Millie put her head into her hands and stated, "Oh man, this sounds like Baby Jesus's birth not a Christmas story!" It is this moment that you think to yourself "failure" as a parent. We have been reading lots of Christmas books lately, and we have been talking about the true meaning of Christmas, but I guess not enough. Both Scott and I died laughing and explained it was the original Christmas story. We than sang happy birthday to Jesus and let the kiddos open their presents.
Levi in his new suit. I scored this Navy pin stripped Nautica suit for $20!

Now you may be asking yourself where are Sophia's presents? Well I really didn't get her any. She had two gifts that daddy opened for her. She will never know....this was my reasoning. :)
As always we headed over to Grandma and Papaw Seniour's house for Christmas dinner and more gifts.
Millie loved playing with Baby Lyla, our Great Niece. She is 6 weeks older than Sophia.
If you are around Millie for any period of time, you will play the Slug Bug game with her. She is very good and can spot them anywhere. She loves them so much that we walked by one in the Hobby Lobby parking lot and she told Levi in awe, "I have never been this close to a slug bug before." Kohls had a Barbie version of the VW beetle, and thanks to our cousin Rachel, who went out at 11 pm to purchase this one when I finally found one at the Franklin store, Millie got a slug bug for Christmas.
It was a great Christmas!!

We did the same thing for Naomi's first Christmas as she was the same age as Sophia. :)
