Every year after Christmas, Scott and I pack our bags and head off to HYC or Holiday Youth Convention. Other than camp it is the biggest youth event of the year. We have been attending HYC for many years now. For several years we went as chaperons to our youth group. Now that Scott is the Section 5 youth director for the state of Indiana we go and help to plan and execute the convention.
We love working on the Youth Committee and have made lasting friendships, and always have a great time. It usually is a week of early mornings, late nights, church in the am and pm, good food, and of course laughter in abundance. We come home exhausted, but wouldn't trade it for anything.
Every year the President of the committee gives one committee member the honor of "Director of the Year" based on your work performance throughout the year. This year Scott was the recipient.
He received an engraved iPad case and I received flowers.
He will also receive money to pay for our trip to General Conference, and for reaching his monetary goal for Sheaves for Christ for our section, he is getting the iPad 2.
